Hello I have been researching my surname CICHANTEK for some time and may have come upon a variation. In Poland records from my anscetors villages near Flatow I have a relative showing surname spelled CICHANTEK. While searching Milwaukee Wisconsin (where most of my anscestors came to first upon arriving in US) records from Poland match the same person first name , spouse names and date of birth but with death record showing name spelling CHICANTEK leading me to (maybe wrongfully) believe it is not only the same person but a possible name varation. Could anyone provide and input concerning this and are both true Polish spellings and maybe interchangable. I'm not sure if maybe through language changes the name was altered. Any help is appreciated. Thank you Jeff Cichantek researching CICHANTEK, POZORSKI, POKL~KOWSKI/POKLENKOWSKI,WNUK/VNUK from the areas of Skitz/ Slawianowo/ Kobelnik,Flatow, West Prussia, Prussia that settled in Wisconsin.
Jeff, I ,also, have family from Flatnow their village was Battrow. They settled in Milwaukee,WI. I know this wasn't what you were looking for but thought I would write you. What village was your Cichantek from and where in Milwaukee, did they settle.Barb ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jeff Cichantek" <jchichantek@charter.net> To: <poland-roots@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, May 31, 2008 4:24 PM Subject: [POLAND] Fw: CICHANTEK > Hello > > I have been researching my surname CICHANTEK for some time and may have > come > upon a variation. > > In Poland records from my anscetors villages near Flatow I have a relative > showing surname spelled CICHANTEK.
