    3. Yes, I agree completely, it is likely a phonetic spelling of what he remembers the town name to be. I noticed the other spelling errors. I've seen his mother's name written as Golski also - which seems more likely (or Golska actually). He's a cousin of some sort of my great-grandfather, and I've spent the last few years trying to put together the pieces. It's been a challenge, his family is littered with surname changes (both his name as well as those of his children). A naturalization record might help, the 1920 census claims he was naturalized in 1917, although I don't know if it was in MD or PA. Does anyone know if the FHL has indexes microfilmed?
