    3. I can't believe someone would go to all the trouble just HOPING someone lands on their prank? Although some people have too much free time, and stranger things have been known to happen. I don't see how Ancestry.com COULD police all the info people post ... imagine what the membership would be! So I guess it's up to us to double check what we find in other people's posts against the "facts" that Ancestry.com actually posts themselves. Was the family name you were researching of any particular interest to others in general for any reason? I would be willing to bet that someone just didn't know how to scrutinize their finds and ran with a bit of info which led them down the wrong path. Sorry it had to tangle you up in it. At least you could use it as a resource of who you are NOT related too, right? I have had some very conclusive hits that have somehow gotten totally confused and results in having two possible, very factual-seeming scenarios. Hard to tell sometimes. Good luck!
