    3. Hi Brian, You didn't say where on the census they were recorded. I'm presuming it was the person's birth place. Repton could also be a town in Derbyshire England. I can't find a Dobjins. I checked out ShtetlSeeker - Town Search http://www.jewishgen.org/Communities/LocTown.asp and didn't find either place with that spelling. You should check the other possible spellings. Also check others living in the same area. Often people coming from the same place congregate together. There were 2,500 Jacob families in the 1891 UK and 7,500 Jacobs . I don't know if I can help but if you want me to take a look at your record for a transcription error give me the full name and residence.
