    3. State archives have their prices listed on their website and they will give you the estimate before you proceed. Write to them (can be in English) to ask if they have the records from your village. Polish State Archives http://www.archiwa.gov.pl As to the private researcher, I'm of no help here - never used one. But, if I were to look for one, I'd definitely use somebody local (cost of travelling in Poland is extremely $$$).
