    3. Roslyn, The fact that this was on the internet makes me think you might be able to locate more information about your ancestors at the port of embarkation. Subka/Supka could be in Poland but at the time your ancestors went to Australia, part of Poland was ruled by Prussia. You/we need to figure out how to spell this location in Polish. Of course, that means we need to locate it! Here's a possibility: http://www.kartenmeister.com/preview/City.asp?CitNum=13672 It shows that in German, the name was spelled Subkau. Probably pronounced similarly to your "Subka." Note that the name in Polish is spelled Zopcow and was at one time located in West Prussia.
