Thanks to both Roman & Debbie for your comments and sugestions. It sounds to me like maybe Wolka Szlachecka was absorbed into Franknowo but I am an amateur at this, so of course that is only speculation on my part. Debbie I will take your advice and send an email. I'll report back when I hear. Thanks again Roman & Debbie I really really appreciate the help. Barb In a message dated 10/30/2010 10:00:13 P.M. If Franknowo had a web site it would probably list its member villages and we would know for sure whether Wólka Szlachecka is in that parish. I am out of town so I can't spend a lot of time on this now. I think Barb should send an email to the Archdiocese of Warminska and ask in which parish Wólka Szlachecka is located. Barbara, It's fairly clear that Wólka Szlachecka belongs to the Franknowo parish. There is no need to speculate. Both villages were in Germany (Kr. Rössel, East Prussia) prior to WW-II. The German names are Adlig Wolka and Frankenau. And today both belong to the same civil administration (village council) of Franknowo.
