Hi Chris -You and I emailed a bit last year when I didn't know which Koziki town I needed and you offered to check the Puchaly film for my ancestor's names. I hope you were successful with your own search!I only know a few things about Joseph's family - father George (but not the actual Polish spelling and I understand it can translate to a few different names), mother Josephine Knopoka and 2 sisters possibly named Bernadette and Victoria but no knowledge of birth sequence or ages. So I can only start with Joseph for now and hopefully the rest will fill in. Did you use a researcher in that region? If so, would you be willing to pass along the researcher's contact info if you thought this person could be helpful to me (and if they speak English)? Thanks so much, mick > From: [email protected] > Date: Tue, 22 Mar 2011 16:24:23 -0400 > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: [POLAND] Koziki Poland in Russian Partition? > > If you know the names of Joseph's parents, and he was one of the last children born, then it is possible that his parents were married prior to 1870, and you might find their marriage or the baptisms of other children. > > Also, my personal experience is that many of the churches in that region do have vital records at the parish. If you can find a researcher who has a connection with the priest, he may be able to view the post 1870 records - I have done this myself.
