    1. Re: [POLAND] Koziki Poland in Russian Partition?
    2. Mrs. MICK
    3. Hello again! A year ago I posted under the above mentioned thread that the most recent info for the birthplace of my maternal grandfather Joseph Jastrzembski was Koziki in Lomza and PolishDragon pointed out 4 possible parishes. Since then, I found a US baptism record for one of his children that indicates one of those parishes is my grandfather's parish - Sniadowo (yippee!!!!). Unfortunately, the range of Joseph's birthdates from his various records are between 1884 - 1888. Since the LDS film for this parish doesn't have these dates due to the 100 year cut-off, I'm expecting I can only get a record by writing the church directly and ask for a record within the 1884 - 1888 range. Is that my only approach? (I've had lots of help from members in the past few years and doesn't look like I can get any better with the birthdate) In the meantime, I'm wondering if the LDS film for the Sniadowo parish could hold other info for me. It seems my grandfather's parents were George Jastrzembski and Josephine Konopka and he had 2 sisters most likely named Bernadette and Victoria all staying in Poland. There is no other info on these individuals. Considering the available dates on the LDS film, if Sniadowo is his birth parish, could it also be the parish his parents were married in - meaning it could have his mother's birth record (aren't marriages in the bride's parish?). In prior posts, I was told that both Jastrzembski and Konopka were both common names so it might be a long shot. Thank you for any opinions and suggestions! mick > From: [email protected] > To: [email protected] > Date: Sun, 7 Feb 2010 23:58:21 +0000 > CC: [email protected] > Subject: Re: [POLAND] Koziki Poland in Russian Partition? > > > Shea & Hoffman's book lists four all in Lomza in the parishes of: S~niadowo, Ostro~w Mazowiecka, Puchaly & Stawiski. Check LDS catalog by inserting any of these in the KEYWORD search and see what pops up. > [email protected] > - Original message from "Mrs. MICK" <[email protected]>: > > A couple years ago I kept drawing blanks trying to find > > where my grandfather came from in Poland. I've gathered a small list of towns named Koziki but they all seem to be in the former Prussian partition. The films may be a gold mine IF you can make the connection. Joseph would have to be one of the much younger children. My suggestion: write for his records and THEN get the film. [email protected]
