Sorry - had to step away for a bunch of hours to take care of life's callings! I'm a bit rusty not being able to do any research in the last year AND I'm still a bit of a novice so I apologize in advance for things I may have forgotten, or just haven't comprehended yet :) Debbie, am I sure the LDS have the films for Koziki? Not really, just excited that I had finally identified a parish! But seems I can't use the film anyway (at least initially) since records are only until 1870 and I need later dates (1884-1888). I don't read or write Polish so I struggle a bit on Polish sites like the map, but I greatly appreciate your second link to the Sniadowo parish and its contact info. Very exciting to see a photo of a place that could be a part of my family history - usually it is only words!!!! I've not written a letter or looked at a film yet, until now only gathering info to figure out where and what to look for. But I did look at Polish genealogy how-to books when I first started a few years ago and will re-visit those for writing the parish. Thank you for your help. And especially the parish link! mick > Mick, > > There are two S~niadowo in Poland and both are in northern Poland. > One is in L~omz~a powiat. If you know the names of Joseph's parents, and he was one of the last children born, then it is possible that his parents were married prior to 1870, and you might find their marriage or the baptisms of other children. Also, my personal experience is that many of the churches in that region do have vital records at the parish. If you can find a researcher who has a connection with the priest, he may be able to view the post 1870 records - I have done this myself.
