This is a very great discussion group and you are probably welcome. Mrs. MICK, your note today was not the day to send this, given your name on this group, and was totally inappropriate, I hope by accident! The owners of this list take great pride on portraying Polish heritage and take great insult when Poles may be perceived to be insulted. Today is St. Patrick's day. "Mick" can be perceived as a very derogatory term for Irish people, just like "Polak" for Poles. We all know of perceived negative implications of these terms in our family histories. It is 17h on March 17th in Regina, SK and I am going out to meet with a friend from Irish background for a couple of beers.. We joke about it every year, a Mick and a Polak meeting on St. Pats day (and my wife is a Reilly).
