That typed document (was it a passenger list or manifest?) may well have been a typed transcription of a document that was originally handwritten. So don't discount the possibility that Myrithin really is a poor transcription of Mycielin, even if it is typewritten. I have seen typed instances of known Polish birthplaces being whacky renditions, in studying dozens of passenger lists for my Weinzimmers from places like Myshnitz and Prushnitz, neither of which even I can ever remember the precise spelling of even though I have the correct spellings in my records.
