Hi, I just found the 1844 marriage of my 4th great grandparents. It is in Latin from a Catholic church in Pakoslaw. I have tried several sites and haven't made much headway in translating it myself. Can anyone suggest someone that does translations for a small fee? Thanks, Gail
Gail, There are several how-to books for translating Latin records and LDS has a Latin word list in booklet form. You can also order a Translation Packet from the Polish Genealogical Society of America in Chicago: http://www.pgsa.org/store/cart.php?target=category&category_id=40 Books: Jonathan D. Shea's _Going Home: A Guide to Polish American Family History Research_. http://www.langline.com/ _Sto Lat_ by Ceil Wendt Jensen: http://www.familyrootspublishing.com/store/product_view.php?id=442 You could also scan the document in question and post it somewhere then notify this list so folks can take a look at it and give their translations.
