    3. But Ella, you don't how far we drive when we go to Poland. In 2010 we drove 1,363 miles/2,194 km. We have to rent a car that hold 2 big suitcases in the trunk plus carry-on bags. We usually rent something like a Ford Focus Kombi and it takes regular petrol, not diesel. But it does have a manual transmission so that will help with the gas mileage. Secondly, the cars, and their engines, are much smaller and much more efficient - so the mileage per car is much better. Thirdly, diesel cars are very popular, and diesel fuel is much cheaper than gasoline, and mileage is way way better - e.g. the Volkswagen Golf makes 1100 km on one tank of diesel. So, overall, you will spend either the same or not much more. > > ella > > Subject: [POLAND] Gas in Poland > > For anyone still planning a trip to Poland and renting a car, gas is about 5.80 złoty per _liter_.
