    3. I hope this is added to Findagrave. Such a touching story. http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=Zabinski&GSiman=1&GScid=107817&GRid=87636225& -----Original Message----- From: Armata, Joseph R Sent: Wednesday, May 09, 2012 8:34 AM To: poland-roots@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [POLAND] Zabinski obituary Here it is. Joe Today at 8:30 a.m. a funeral took place for Ignacy Zabinski, a veteran of the 1863 insurrection, who lived in Milwaukee for 40 years, and who spent his final years in a poorhouse. The remains of the Polish patriot were conducted from the funeral home of Roman Werner, 410 Michell Street, to the church of St. Wojciech (Adalbert), where Fr. W. Kruszka conducted the service, and to the St. Wojciech cemetery, where they were placed for eternal rest. Since the departed Zabinski was well known here for his activity in the field of national work as a patriot of the first order (?), those who knew him best did not forget him in his final hours. And so Mrs. Klos, Dr. Krygier's wife, and Mr. Roman Werner contributed to burial clothes for the deceased. The cost of burial was covered by Mrs. Petrykowska and Dr. E. Pawinski at $5 each. Further donations should be directed to the attention of Mr. Roman Werner, who managed the burial. May this foreign soil rest lightly on this deceased patriot and fellow-countryman for the Polish cause. -----Original Message----- From: poland-roots-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:poland-roots-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Karen Duffy Sent: Tuesday, May 08, 2012 8:12 PM To: poland-roots@rootsweb.com Subject: [POLAND] Zabinski obituary Could anyone help with this notice? This was taken from a fax that came through badly, so I tried to type it here, albeit without the diacriticals. This man was an artist, a painter, who lived in Milwaukee, and seemed to have fallen on hard times at the end of his life. I'm having the most trouble with the third paragraph, so any help is appreciated. E. Pawinski. Dalsze skladki nalezy zlozyc na rece p. Romana Wernera, ktory zajal sie pogrzebem. Niech zmarlemu patryocie i zasluzonemu dla sprawy polskiej Rodakowi, ta obca ziemia lekka bedzie. ********************************* Need to contact the list manager?
