    3. Hello again Megan, you already have some of this stuff. The Hamburg passenger lists show the family's last residence as Gniewkowitz. The New York passenger lists show the birthplace of Karl in bartschen (meant for Barcin/ Bartschin ?), Henriette in hohensalza, and all the children born indexed as bruewkarig (Gniewkowitz). They were going to son Otto Borck (Barck), Saginaw, Mich. http://www.jewishgen.org/Communities/LocTown.asp has Nowa Wies Wielka, where Carl & Henriette were married, is located about 5 miles from Gniewkowitz (Gniewkowiec). Hohensalza located about 9 1/2 miles from Gniewkowitz (Gniewkowiec). And Bartschin (Barcin) is located about 8 1/2 miles from Gniewkowitz (Gniewkowiec). http://www.kartenmeister.com/preview/databaseuwe.asp show what Lutheran & Catholic churches were affiliated with these towns. Hope this helps.
