    3. Hi Everyone: I am researching my grandfather, William Kocol who lived his entire life in the Chicago area. I have been able to find all the bmd's relating to him. I have not been able to get his application for social security. He is not listed in the SSDI under any of the first names he used including: Benny, Boleslaus, William or Bill. Does anyone have any idea how to find a back way into these records? I would love to have this document for my Kocol book. Thanks for your help, Heidi Sisco

    3. I found a William Kocol b.27 Nov., 1891 d. May, 1976. Of course I neglected to note the SS# Go to SSDI; enter last name and Chicago as aplace pf death.     3. Heidi, People did not appear on the SS Death Index unless a death benefit was paid and that only happened if their was a surviving wife or minor children.
