The full image is here... http://kowallekfamily.com/temp/IMGP5122.JPG I won't have access to a "better" image until I revisit the FHC and take another photo ... maybe a few weeks from now. I don't know if that photo will be any better. > Though it really doesn't look like it the mother's given name could be > Hedwig = Jadwiga. > Agnieszka in Latin is Agnes That's what I thought. 3. Dennis, Re: Second record on page at link below. The images are a little blurry but to me it looks like Modzeleskich which indicates the "house" she was from. It could be Modzelewska, Modzelowska, Modzelewicz or Modzelik. I don't know which suffix is appropriate for what is written, Modzeleskich. My gggg-grandparents were Marcin MODZELEWSKI and Agnieszka OLSZEWSKA. On this record, the father looks like it could be Marcin MODZELEWSKI. But the mother's first name doesn't look like the latin Agnes. Or does it? I see... "et [word1] [word2] Modzeleskich" Could [word2] be Agnes with the top of the 'A' chopped off (faded)? If so, what is [word1]? -- Dennis Kowallek Cincinnati, Ohio (born in Cleveland) kowallek@iglou.com ****************** Researching in Świedziebnia (and surrounding area)
