I learned that my great-grandmother's brother who lived in Poland raised pigeons at least from the 1920s thru the 1940s. He lived in Krakow. One resource for this activity is the nest in Ustroń, Poland. See: > http://www.bociany.edu.pl/ The camera has been running now for a few weeks awaiting the arrival of the local pair. One stork flew in about a week ago and a second arrived today. Both are peacefully nesting tonight. However, in the past it has not been the case that the first arrivals were the original prior residents. Battles for the nest ensued before a pair finally won control. Does anyone know if there is someone who could decipher records from Poland? I have some church records, partly Latin and partly Polish. I wouldn't really have much of a problem in translating them; however, the priest's writing is hard to make out. He was a bit "fancy" in entering the information, and I can't really make out his writing. If I can mail someone the copies and he/she can translate them, I would be more than happy to pay for this.

Vera, I'm assuming that you have also researched 'Kostovich,' right? I let my Ancestry.com subscription expire, so I can't look up the details, but a search of the 1930 census shows a Joseph Kostovich in Cook County, Illinois who was born about 1880. Unfortunately, I can't see the record or determine his birthplace without a subscription. (I just got an urge to look it up because I have a Daniel Kostovich who was related by marriage, and who lived in New Jersey.
