Surnames: Andresson, Andreson, Goltz, Von der Goltz Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/hdC.2ACI/700.802.1366.2.1 Message Board Post: My father's grandmother was Katrin Von Goltz (she was Preussisch <sp>) - she married a seacaptain Sven-Mattis Andresson (I believe that he was Swedish), I do not know the years. I know that I was named after her, and a sailing vessel which ran aground in the Skaggerak circa 1920 - it was carrying salt. As a child I was told that this was the reason the sea was salty! I do not know if any of this fits in with anyone here - I know that my father had a an aunt in the States - she was rather well off, no children - but I do not know her, and I do not know if she is still alive - if she is I have no intention of encroaching upon her life now. I would be interested if there is anyone else who is connected with this family - also the other information I have is that on the Swedish side Andresson - one strand moved to Estonia - my father was born in Parnuu <sp> and I know that most recently - the family was involved with the ferry disaster - the Estonia in the Baltic. I believe that the captain was Arvo Andresson and he left behind a wife Riita and I do not know how many children.
