You can even buy books in English about Leszno, and they have coffee cups and other souvenirs of the town for sale. There's an online video of Leszno, and you can even send an email to the town for more information. It is a town of 63,000 people, so it probably has several churches. You didn't indicate whether you are looking for state or church archives. This article indicates that Leszno itself has state archives: http://www.polishroots.org/genpoland/recpos.htm. And another search for Leszno archdiocese indicates that the Roman Catholic archives are in Poznan. Before you write to the archives, did you check to see what films are available from the LDS? If your ancestors were Roman Catholic, there are birth records available that cover the years that you are looking for: http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/fhlcatalog/supermainframeset.asp?display=titlefilmnotes&columns=*%2C0%2C0&titleno=106908&disp=Ksi%C4%99gi+metrykalne++ There are also films for several years of Evangelical church records. I hope this gives you some ideas. Good luck! Cynthia Chicago PGSA __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail - Easier than ever with enhanced search.
