My grandmother was Josephine Brzostowski Plominski, she lived around the Wilkes Barre, Pa. area and was married to Stanley Plominski back in 1908. This is my father's family. I do not have alot of info on my Grandmother Josephine. She was suppose to have come from Ostrolenka, Poland in 1907 with her brother Joseph, or perhaps spelled Josef, through Ellis Island, but I can't find them listed anywhere. She settled around the Wilkes Barre, Pa. area...and Joseph (Josef) was suppose to have gone to NY...in or around Buffalo. I would love to find his family...and perhaps they could shed some light on my exhausting search. Grandma Josephine died in 1970 I believe and my father passed away in 1986. Grandma Josephine lost her husband Stanley Plominski in 1929, but she stayed in Pennsylvania and worked and raised her chil! dren. When the children grew up, a few of the boys changed their names to Palmer...because of the 1930's being so clickish and Polish people were not accepted as easily as today. Stanley and Josephine's children were Stanley Plominski Jr; Estelle (Essie); Helen; Zigmond Plominski, and the rest of the boys took the last name of Palmer. They were -- Walter, Edward, Matthew (or nickname Max -- this was my father), and Charles. Charles, or Uncle Charlie to me, moved to NYC and for a long while owned the restaurant at the bottom of the Empire State Building. Uncle Stan & his wife moved to Connecticut and started a restaurant that grew to be pretty famous. And my Dad moved to the Bronx and stayed with his sister Essie & husband Bill for awhile, then he joined the CCC Camps and traveled to eastern PA, where he ended up settling. If any of this is familiar, please let me know! I am so anxious to find Joseph's family...and learn more about mine! Thanks, Donna My ema! il is... daisyladey@velocity.net
