The certificate is written in Polish and after some digging, I found that he was baptized at Francis Catholic church (now closed)in Sioux City on July 10, 1927. There is a handwritten note that he died on Nov. 25, 1927. There are other words that might be names. The certificate has a beautiful litho of a Polish looking couple holding a baby over the font while an altar boy holds a candle. There is another piece of paper which was taped on to the back and has similar information. If this person is your relative, please contact me at [email protected] Linda

She also chatted a bit with my brother Steve. We had a Jozef Baranowski who was married to an Ursula; they were the parents of my ggrandfather Anthony Baranowski. My brother thought perhaps our Jozef and your Wojchiech were the same person, but we never proved it. You mentioned that the name of Urzula was in a family bible. Did they mention her maiden name at all? My Ursula's maiden name was Hryncewicz. Does this ring a bell? Janet Bernosky

Within the past few days, RootsWeb/Ancestry has upgraded their message board system. One of the upgrades affects message board posts copied to the corresponding mailing list (this is called messages being "gatewayed" to a mailing list). Since this list is gatewayed, we all need to be aware of how it affects this list. Messages coming through the gateway no longer show the address of the poster. They now show the gateway address, which is not a valid address for receiving mail (only valid for sending email). While it has always been the proper course of action to click the link in the gatewayed post and reply on the board, it was possible to reply directly to the author of the message via email. That is no longer possible. Please, remember to click on the link provided on gatewayed message board posts to reply on the message board. The folks who post messages on a message board may not be subscribed to the corresponding mailing list and likely will not see any responses to their messages unless posted to the board itself. Regards, Marie, list admin
