Author: petomasz1 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.ceeurope.poland.wielkopolski/1806.2.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Dear Sharon, Thank you for your letter on Jan Huntowski (from 22 Apr 2007). I have a few data on him, unfortunately without any data on his parents. Thus, I have no relation between him and my faliny, my ancestors. However, I belive that all Hundts from Janowiec should be the same family as mine! The crucial is the given names of his parents. Jan (Joannes) Hundt was born in May 1932 in Janowiec. He was married Katarzyna (Catherina) Przybylska from Brudzyn, village near Janowiec, (born in 1829) in 19 XI 1854. They lived in Brudzyn and have a children: - son Antoni (Anton?), born 16 V 1856 - daughter lived 2 hours, born and died 7 IX 1858 - son Michal (Michael) born 9 IX 1859. The birth date for your gggf Jan Huntowski is the same! I have found in Family Search File that Michael Huntowski (born 10 Sept. 1859 in Posen) was died in 18 Aug. 1937 in Chicago, Cook, IL. It should be the same as above stated Michal. He married Anastasia Kalinowska in 24 Jun 1887 in Chicago. They have a son James Edward or Jacob Hunt or HUNTOWSKI (22 Jul 1897 - 16 Jun 1973). Thuis is the only information about change od name from Hunt (Hundt) to Huntowski. Thus, I think that this change should be mate in the USA. Why? There are another family of Huntowski lived in USA. Is the same family?? There are several Huntowski who immigrated to USA (as stated in "New York Passenger lists"). However thera are no Michael. However, I have found Anton Hundt born abt 1856, eho arrived to USA on 4 Nov. 1881. Is the same as our Antoni (born 16 May 1856)?! Do you know who from your ancestors immigrated to USA? And who changed their name? I will be very happy if your family branch could be placed correctly in my Hundt's family tree. With the best regards from Poland and from your cousin(?) - Pawel Tomaszewski ([email protected]) Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I have been researching the MOSINIAK/STEFANIAK families for over 5 years. My MOSINIAK's settled in Michigan in particular Red Jacket (Calumet) Michigan. Tomasz (Thomas) MOSINIAK was born about 1854 in Poznan, Poland. His parents were Wawrzyniec MOSINIAK and Michalina BALBIERZ. They were married about 1850 in Poznan, Poland. Thomas married Marrianna WOJKIEWICZ November 26, 1882 in Red Jacket, Houghton County, Michigan. They had Helena (my grandmother)in July, 1882 in Calumet, Michigan. Helena married Bolestaw (he went by William)on May 28, 1898. Thye lived in Dodgeville, MI. They had 12 children, my mother being the second youngest. I have searched census, birth/death records, and military records and found nothing after his 1882 marriage. If there is a connection with any other MOSINIAK family members please let me know. It has been a mystery as to what happened to him. I would like to find out when he died and where he is buried. If you know of any sites that will help me in my search please let me know. Would you send me information on Rochus MOSINIAK? Thank you again for your message. It has made me want to continue researching. I had just about given up ever finding any information.
