    1. Gorzow 1860
    2. Hi Listers, I am new to this list although I have been on others off and on for years. I have just discovered that my great grandmother may have been born in Gorzow. Her name AGNES JASINSKA. Her father was Andrew JASINSKI and her mother Julia MULUSKA. Her birth date was 24 Dec 1860. Anyone searching this person or this family? I want to write to confirm all this information. Anyone know the correct address of the nearest archive that might have birth records for 1860. By the way, she was Catholic. Joan Hardter Oakton, Virginia

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/hdC.2ACI/1296.4.1 Message Board Post: I think we are talking about the same Josepha. I am descended from her older brother Thomas [Tomasz?]. All I have is her name and birthdate (no husband, children, etc.). "Geo." [George] is often used in America by those with the Polish/German name "Wojceich/Adalbert" which is the name that I have in my records for Josepha's father, so it would seem that the fathers could easily be the the same person, and "M. Stanstowska" could easily be a mispronunciation of "Maryanna Stanislawska" which was the name in the Blazejewo, Poznan records. I have the names of Josepha's grandparents. I would love to exchange info with you. katwood@chartermi.net

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/hdC.2ACI/1296.4 Message Board Post: Kathy, Are you still actively researching this family line? If so, I would like to correspond with you concerning Josepha SZATKOWSKA, born 19 March 1843 to Adalbert SZATKOWSKI and Maryanna STANISLAWSKA. I believe or hope that the said Josepha is in fact my ggg-grandmother. My Josepha(born 17 March 1843)married Joseph MACIEJEWSKI in approx. 1865. I have birth records for two of their children, Katerina/Katherine(b. 21 Oct 1878) and Wawrzyn/Lawrence(b.31 July 1875), both born in Gablin, Wyslawice(Sroda), Poznan, Poland. Josepha's maiden name as listed on each document is "SCHADKOWSKA and SZADKOWSKA" respectively. On 22 April 1880 they arrived in America aboard the Herder. The family settled in Bay City, Michigan. Josepha's death record (dod-17 May 1902-aged 59yrs, 2mos)listed her parents as Geo. SZATKOWSKI and M. STANSTOWSKA. In total she had 7 children and I am descended through her eldest son, Joseph Jr.(born 1867). I would certainly like to share the documentation I have if you think we have a connection. Kindest regards, Eileen Harrisville, MI

If you've forgotten, my mother is your cousin Mary Anne (Swiecicki) my grandmother was Anna Barsukiewicz. My uncle Martin was visiting today from out of state, and he says that he and his twin brother Francis have found that our family coming over here was from Russia. Their name was Barsuk (the kiewicz means son of and was added later.)He at one point found the record in the Ellis Island data base. He has some sort of family tree certificate that he's going to send us once he gets home. I'll keep you posted! He spoke of a lot of info that showed some interesting connections that were Hebrew, and believe it or not Buddhist (mongolian ties)!!!
