I have an Ignatius (aka Jigge) Polus born Jul 25, 1867 who also went by the name of Jacob Polus. I have his wife as Annie Lukowska. They had a daughter name Catherine Polus born 1896. Who could have probably used the name of Kate. I would have to go through my paper files to see if I have anything more on him. Let me know if there is a connection. Crystal McDonald Wendt

I do not have to much information on Polus. This is what I do have. Gertrude Polus was born in 1898 in Wisconsin and died in 1974 in California. She was married to a Karl Kolbo. She may have had a sister named Kate. Her fathers name was either Joseph Polus or Ignatius Polus. I can not confirm either. I believe he was married to someone named Anna. This is all the information I have and some of it is from relatives. I can only verify Gertrudes birth/death/marriage. Not sure if this will be helpful or not. Happy family hunting. Happy Holidays, Rachelle
could someone translate a letter for me from English to Polish. I want to send a holiday message to someone in Poland. Thank you very much

I don't know much about the Werners, I haven't had much opportunity to look. What I do know is that Susanna Werner married Adelbert Cegielski in Gniezno before 1838. She is also not Catholic and I have also assumed that she is German. Their children appear on FHLC films for "Kościół rzymsko-katolicki. Parafja Św. Trójcy, Gniezno (Gniezno)" Their children are born in Zaieziorze, Grzybowo and Gniezno and so it appears that they lived on the south side of Gniezno.
