Przybyla, I've heard, is a very common name in Poland. I do know that my Przybyla ancestor (Antoni) was from Galicia, and immigrated about 1893. He always told the family he was from Posen/Poznan, but whether he meant the city or the area, we don't know. I found a marraige record that said he was from Onlno, Galicia, Poland. He worked in the coal or zinc mines in central Illinois. He did have a brother (John/Jan) that stayed in Chicago, but I've been unable to trace him at all. The only surviving child doesn't remember anything about her uncle other than he was in Chicago.

I haven't had a chance to investigate this family either. But, if you're interested, the ones I have so far (from Slawno parish) are Anna Rosina Werner, born about 1796, and Elisabeth Werner, born about 1805. Anna Rosina married Simon Zielinski in the town of Zakrzewo in 1821, and Elisabeth married Gabriel Sadowski in Zakrzewo in 1825. Their father was listed as Adalbert Werner. I'll let you know if I come across any more.
Looking for relatives of Wincenty Mockiewicz/Moczkiewicz. It is lore that he was from Lithuania. He came to the U.S. in 1884 or 1887. On the Petition of Intent there is nothing, as you know in the 1890's nothing was on them. The same goes for the Naturalization papers. His parents were (I think) Patri and Mariae Drutkiewicz. Wincenty married a girl in LaSalle-Peru, IL. had seven children and died when he was at a young age. This is all the info. I have. I looked into church, birth, death records, but to no avail. I think Vincent came from the woj. of Poznan because the girl he married was from that region. Tom Pal _palskid@aol.com_ (mailto:palskid@aol.com)

We need to find out where the 1 born in 1875 was at that time. I can trace my family after Frank. I am trying to get back before him.
