There was a St. Hedwigs parish in E. Cambridge, MA. The school closed many years ago and the church more recently. Records for this parish should be obtainable at the Archdiocese archives. They had 11 children: Frank, Andrew, Sophie, Joseph, Michelina, James, Louis, Edward, Sally, Alex and Bernard. I am interested in the ancestors of both Stanley Maday and Mary Koziel. Does anyone have any information?

In Polish language is not the name "Bronis" and "Awa" :) It is an effect of the wrong prescribe from some documents. Here are more pieces of information about my Grand father. My grand father was Wladislaw Switala. He was born in 1909. We have very few elements about his life. He once mentioned Poznan as his place of birth, (but we can remember him speaking of Potok...). He was a Catholic Pole. We think his mother was Maria and his father perhaps Leon. His father married twice. My grandfather had brothers, sisters and half brothers and sisters. Here are some names we remember : Frania (Françoise in French) married to Frank Obala, Théophila, Cécilia. Perhaps a Ludovik. My grand father arrived in the North of France when he was 17, later he married my grand mother Emma Laurent a Belgian woman, then he was taken to Germany as a prisoner. He had three children among who is my mother. He died in 1979.

If they have been, you can order them and view them at a local Family History Center. You can find the closest FHC in your area at the website also. From what I understand, the films have indexes in them. Ask whether the indexes are by village or by surname. You can then check the indexes for your family village, or name. The records will not be in English, but you will be able to find your village name and surname.
