Maybe it's just a coincidence that you have a Karl Radtke married to a JoHANNA in Wisconsin. Does any of our info match up with yours? Our Great Grandfather was Carl F. Radke, born 3/24/1821, died 4/30/1901. Buried in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery in Loganville, WI. (near Reedsburg). He was married to Hanna Schultz who was born 7/6/1840 and died 2/14/1921. John Louie Albert Radke (went by the name Louie) was the son of Carl F. Radke and Hannah Schultz. Carl was 58 and Hanna was 39 when he was born. We don't know if there were any other siblings. Louie was born 7/13/1879 in Loganville, Wisconsin. He married 5/4/1904 in Loganville to Minnie Augusta Koenig (daughter of John Koenig and Augusta Pirk). Louie and Minnie had 9 children. 3. When you click Tutaj znajdują się objaśnienia skrótów in a new window you will find the explaination of abbreviations. These are administrative districts called wojewodztwa as they were organized in 1988. There was a reform of administration which changed it since. So, the total number of Szewczykowski at the beginning of 1990's in Poland was 670, with most of them (69) in wojewodztwo of Warsaw,16 in Bielsko, and so on. -----Original Message----- From: BrennaJne@aol.com [mailto:BrennaJne@aol.com] Sent: Friday, February 27, 2004 7:44 AM To: POL-WIELKOPOLSKIE-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [Wielkopolskie] Re: POL-WIELKOPOLSKIE-D Digest V04 #29 In a message dated 2/27/2004 6:03:30 AM Central Standard Time, POL-WIELKOPOLSKIE-D-request@rootsweb.com writes: http://www.herby.com.pl/herby/ can you tell me what the abreviations in the surname frequency lists means? herei s what I found but I don't know what they mean Szewczykowski670Wa:59, Bs:16, BB:4, By:63, Ci:14, Cz:37, Gd:9, Go:10, Kl:40, Ka:25, Ki:45, Kn:29, Ko:45, Kr:8, Lg:37, Ls:2, Lu:14, Łd:20, Ol:8, Os:3, Pl:12, Pł:35, Po:9, Ra:7, Sr:4, Sk:15, Sz:18, Tb:6, Ta:16, To:11, Wb:12, Wł:4, Wr:21, ZG:12

    3. I would say it's CembrowcoWicz. Is there a chance for this missing w? However, it's a bit too complex for a Polish name, so most probably it is Cembrowicz. In 1999 there were 138 persons with the name Cembrowicz in Poland: Cembrowicz 138 By:5, Go:13, JG:4, Kn:6, Pl:24, Po:68, S?:3, Su:5, Wr:5, ZG:5 As you can see most of them in Poznan (68) and Pl~ock (24)areas. You can try other spelling at: http://www.herby.com.pl/herby/ Cembrowina means a casing of the well, which might mean that your family was involved in a well drilling industry somewhere in the past. 1. [Wielkopolskie] Looking for Zerniki and Juncewo
    2. I am new to list and need some help regarding the towns of Zerniki and Juncewo, Poland. I have recently learned that my Szewczykowski family is from these 2 towns and have received microfilm from LDS for these 2 towns. I have located my families in these films but I am wondering if anyone can give me information on the towns surrounding these 2 towns. In the church records it looks like some names are : Dabrowa, Sielec, Darmstaw, Starzynek, Tarzy,Damastaw, Sieler. I am wondering if these towns still exist and the correct spellings. I am alos wondering about the divisions of Poland. Am I correct that Juncewo is in the District of Janowiec Wielkopolski, and that the next division is a county of Znin and the Province of Kajawsko-Pomorskie. Could anyone equate these divisions to the divisions in USA i.e. Country, State, county, city, etc? Also were does Bydgoszczy fit in - is it a county???I am confused. Also would anyone know what churches existed in the 1870's in Zerniki and Juncewo? On the microfilm it does not list the church names. One was in Juncewo and the other in Zerniki. Also is there any map which shows the divisions - i.e. the country of Poland and then the Province divisions, etc? Thanks Lenora from Wisconsin
