Yors dated 29 Feb 2004, and no response after a month .... I cannot help the feeling that you probably would be better served by posting your query on the mailinglist POSEN-L. For genealogical research in some central european regions, the real action does not take place on web based fora like this Wielkopolski Board, but on dedicated mailinglists. The amount of queries and replies on Posen-L does in a day what this web board does in a month. Thus, you probably would want tro look into POSEN-L Check http://www.posen-l.com/ for information on Posen-L

I believe they came to Massachusetts directly from Europe. They moved to Detroit and had 3 sons: Bruno (my grandfather-passed away this year at 92), Johnny (missing), and Lee (still in Detroit.) I will forward your inquiry to my 2nd-cousin (Lee Warren, Jr.) in Detroit as he is VERY into history & may have some info for you. It's a long shot, but there may be a link!

    1. [Wielkopolskie] SCHOSSKE/BLUMBERG
    2. Marge Clark
    3. I am new to your list. Please forgive the length of my post, I am trying to make it as concise as possible. My Grandmother, Ida Schosske Blumberg, came from Buchwalde, East Prussia. Her brother, Herman Blumberg, gave Brighwaldy as his place of birth when he joined the Masons. There is no place Brighwaldy as far as I know. I posted to another list and several people came to the same conclusion. It was suggested to me that it could be Budwity. The same brother gave the place of birth of his mother as Holland. In church records in New York State it gives Buchwalde, East Prussia as her birthplace and her daughter, my grandmother. My Sherlock Holmes hat may be a little crooked but I have come up with the idea that it could be Buchwalde (now Buczyniec); the brother's place of birth could be Budwity; the Holland her brother mentions could mean Preussisch Holland. My GGrandmother, Henrietta Schosske Blumberg, b 10 July 1840, Buchwalde East Prussia; d July 25, 1880 in Newburgh, New York. She was married to August Blumberg. My Grandmother, Ida Blumberg Griesemer, b 12 Jan 1864 Buchwalde East Prussia; d 22 Dec 1945 in Newburgh, New York. She was married to Johann Adam Griesemer. Children: Ida, Henrietta (Minnie), Herman, August, Amos Please, does any of these names sound familiar to anyone researching this area? If any of this sounds familiar, even the names from this area, I have more details that I am willing to share. Thank you for your patience, time and consideration. Marge Clark Yes, life is good. Hit it angels! Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah . . .

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/hdC.2ACI/595.1.2 Message Board Post: Whereabouts are your Woronowiczs today? Where did they settle in the United States? I ask this, because I am doing a sort of backdoor approach to researching my family, who are not Woronowiczs, but Fabianskis. My efforts thus far have failed me in locating information about a group of Fabianski people who lived in New Jersey. My greatgrandmother was named Amelia Fabianski. She married Joseph Niziolek in Philadelphia, I am told. They moved to South River, N.J. where they lived out the rest of their lives. For over a year, I have been trying to pull anything out of my relatives...any sort of clue to help me locate information on them. Last night, my mother returned from visiting her Aunt and Mother, 92 and 87 respectively, still living in N.J., and two of Amelia and Joseph's 8 children. She was able to extract the following from my Great-Aunt: Amelia Fabianski had a brother named Stanley who lived in Philadelphia. She had a sister named Adela who also lived in South River, married to a Burkowski. Adela had a daughter named Viola. Another sister was Helen Fabianski. And lastly...there was a sister called "Cele," prpobably short for Cecilia? Cele Fabianski married a WORONOWICZ, and they had two sons. Is there anyone researching WORONOWICZ who might know who these people are? If you do, perhaps then, you would have information on Cele Fabianski or Fabianska or even Fabian and her family, which would help me with my research of Amelia Fabianska...her sister. I would love to hear from anyone who might have even the tiniest shred of information. Thank you for reading my query. Kim :)

Herman emigrated in 1882 and married Annie Rosner in 1889, they had 12 children.. Martha's mother was Julianna (nee Benz) and father's name was Karl. A second brother of Julianna, Emil Benz, emigrated in 1883, he married Emma Darmitger, they lived in Ontarioville, IL and had no children. No other Krueger or Benz family members emigrated. I believe Julianna and Karl died during or shortly after WWI. Martha married August Hirsch in Chicago in 1902. They had 7 children. She died in 1939.
