He had refused to go into the Russian army (at that time, service in the Russian army was usually a death sentence for a Jew) and had escaped through Germany. He was an Orthodoz Jew . He was married twice in this country and had several children. His second wife, Sarah Sorblum (originally Zaurbach) was also from Kutno. I do not know much about the Family in Poland.
