POL-PODLASKIE-L@rootsweb.com  Hi Roland, My ancestors origined from Janow parish also. My paternal grandfather Isidore Bucko was born in Sep 23th 1912 in Kuplisk, parish Janow. I will meet him in the next week and if you want I can ask him about your ancestrals surnames and villages near Janow. In Bialystok you can find recordd (birth, death and marriages' certificates) from 1865 to 2005. Also in other archive in Bialystok the certificates from 1808 to 1865y. I have never searched any record in Janow and I don't know if the priest has any older documentes in parish's archive. My great grandmother was from Daniewicz family, her mother from Borodzinski family, grandmother from Dereszkiewicz (Doroszkiewicz) family.
