    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Sidransky Zidransky, Zadrunsky. Sedransk, Kraftchik Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/RdC.2ACI/54.1 Message Board Post: I am descended on my mother's side from Shepsel Zidransky, originally from Grodno, but later lived in Bialystok where he died in 1908. His brother, Sonie, a professional actor called "Sonie der Badchen, " a giant, came to the us around 1913 and he died in NYC in 1927 - he spelled his surname Zadrunsky. Shepsel was married twice, and his second wife was my great-grandmother; she was first married to a Kraftchik. In all, there were 19 children from the three marriages; my grandmother, Chanye (Anna), was the youngest child, born in 1889. She spelled her last name Zdroiansky. She had a half-sister Bessie Rapaport who resided in NYC, and a half-brother, Max who changed his name to Sedransk. She was close to her nephew, Mayer Yosef, who remained in Bialystok. Most of the family perished in the forest massacre in 1942 in Bialystock by the Nazi SS. There were two survivors of the holocaust, incarcerated in Auschwitz, and later resided in Israel, Shepsel (Shabtai) Avgustovsky and Gitel Zidransky Klinghofer. My information is sketchy, but may be of use to you. My grandmother married Yankl (Jacob) Dovid Blisniak (became Bernstein) fron Czyzew, Poland, in April, 1908, and my mother, Shifra (Sophia), was named for Shepsel.
