There was a time in the 1860's when most of that area from Bialystock to Suwalki was redisticted and under the jurisdiction of Grodno...which I believe ended in 1914 or 1917... I received an answer from Grodno that all the records had been shipped to Suwalki, but I don't know if that included Bialystock... But you should be asking for the Grodno records in either place.. Of course this assumes that your grandmother was born in that timeframe... most cordially... edward...
