My great grandfather Konstanty married Victoria Jaskowska around 1896. They lived near Bialystok area - and came to America when Russia invaded. Doing a map search, i found the city with the same name! I know Konstanty came to America through a nephew - last name Filipkowski- and they lived in Erie, Pennsylvania. Konstanty and Victoria lived on a farm- they had 10 children, 5 who died in Poland, but Dominic and Mary came to America with them. Looking for any information on ancestors of that name or any information on that city. Thank You

If he was in the armed forces it might be possible for you to obtain a copy of his military records. kind regards Danusia Socha
Hi Ed, I checked the Shtetlseeker and found nothing close to that spelling using their soundex. When I tried pilot.com, I first typed in Sukwaka, and found nothing. Next I tried *waka, and again found nothing. I decided to try Suk* and found one place in all of Podlaskie province. It is Sukowicze, very close to the Belarus border, NE of Bialystok. It is located in the powiat of Soko~lka. Using the Rymut study website at http://www.herby.com.pl/herby/indexslo.html, I found no Rychwalski people in that area in 1990. There were 3 Rachwalski in Bialostockie province and 8 in Suwalskie province that year. On this site: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Plains/6980/index.html [Poland Connection] I found a couple of Luniewski/Luniewska and sent an email to the email linked on the website, but unfortunately it bounced right back to me. Does anyone know of an email address to the persons in charge of this page? Since the website's focused on "Rytro, Nowy Sacz and/or the Nur and Zuzel, Lomza Poland" I figured there might be a slim chance of them being related to my Konstancja Luniewska in some way, but as I can't get through, I wouldn't know. :/ Thank you in beforehand :) Take care, Celina
