They are very easy to access, being in Latin and not Polish, although there are no indexes. They are more or less complete for the years 1711-1800. Thanks for the Brodowski stuff. The Wojciech that you mention is likely Wojciech Brodowski, b 1843, who married Marianna Przemielewska, daughter of Antoni P and Zofia Sliz, of Nowa Wies, in 1865. Unfortunately, Dominika's borth occurred when there is a gap in the records. WDR

I have recently done a fairly large research project on the PRZEMIELEWSKI surname. Most of these people lived in Garbas, Matlak, Gebalowka, Nowa Wies and Nowa Wioska. For many of the documents, which I found, the surname of BRODOWSKI appearly frequently. They were men, who were either witnesses or Godfathers to the PRZEMIELEWSKI offspring. These are the names of the BRODOWSKI men, the year and their ages when they appeared on documents. Szymon - 1828 - 45 Szymon - 1829 - 40 Szymon - 1839 - 58 Szymon - 1843 - 60 Szymon - 1844 - 35 Szymon - 1847 - 62 Szymon - 1851 - 60 Kazimierz - 1855 Jozef - 1864 - 42 Kazimierz - 1864 - 50 Wojciech - 1864 - Godfather to Paulina Przemielewskowna Jozef - 1864 - 50 Kazimierz - 1865 - 58 Jozef - 1866 - 39 Kazimierz - 1866 - 57 Kazimierz - 1867 - 55 Jozef - 1867 - 48 Wincenty - 1871 All of these men lived in the villages of Nowa Wies or Nowa Wioska. I think this is actually the same village, only written by the priests in these two manners. Have you had the opportunity to search the LDS microfilm for your ancestors and their offspring. This is how I have been able to do the research back to the oldest member of this family. He died in 1843, and it looks like he was born about 1770, if the age of 70 was correct on his death record. I just noticed that the LDS have now added two new rolls of film to their online catalog. These go clear back to 1607. I've ordered them, so I can further the research on my PRZEMIELEWSKI ancestry. Do you have Dominika's birth record? If you do not, you can order it through the Suwalki archives. This would tell where they lived at the time of her birth and their ages. If you can go back in time, you may be able to find her parents marriage record. Once you have that, you are on your way to going back further in time using the microfilm. I like doing my own research. It can be more thorough than what the archives can do, and less costly. Besides that, I have learned a lot by doing my own research. Tina Ellis

She was born in Maruszyna 5 June 1881 the d of Wojciech of Zaskale and Rozalia Bartoszek--married Szaflary parish 9 Feb 1875. Anna's siblings were a half bro Michael Moczarny, Jozef, Marianna, Antonina, Agnieska, Catharina, and Michael. Anna gave birth to an illeg son Jakub in 1905. She travelled in 1906 with sister Antonina to join their sibling Agnieska who had arrived earlier. They also travelled with a Bartoszek cousin age 15. In 1909 sister Katherine joined the three other sisters in Chicago. Can't recall GA Kate's married name; think Agnes married a louis Skowronski; Toni married a Bruno Wondoloski. Anna married a fellow Galician of Ukrainian origin, name Michael Thomas (Tomasz). Mom had three siblings Paul, Peter, and Kathryn Pritchard. Wish more Much history of sibs in Chicago (their families) and wish to connect with remaining Mucha's back in Zaskale and those that settled in the US.

His name was Jan. The name strynkowski was changed from strekowski...in polish there are 2 letter "e"s e and e with an accent under it. they usually write it on the computer as e~ it says a nasal en or yn sound...hence, the reason they changed the name, to recreate the n sound...my g grandfather's tombstone in PA spells it strenkowski. His wife was strynkowska...the female version. I have a letter somewhere explaining the meaning of the name, from a proffessor...basically he said stre~kowski means a person from stre~kowizna, and stre~kowizna neans place of the pea pod or hull. I would guess your family has some connection to stre~kowizna because of the name, and location. I have no information further than my g grandfather as the church and records were destroyed on WW2. I did correspond for a while with a belinda strenkowski in england...her dad was born in stre~kowizna, and still has a house there. The village is very tiny, and hard to find on maps, but I have found it and can send u a copy of the map...suwaki is the biggest village nearby...the other one is called Nowinka...it is very close to strenkowizna...hope this helps...John strynkowski nyack, NY Nyackduo@aol.com
