You still have family in that village. They are two people with listed telephone numbers. They are Halina Przeorska and Mieczyslaw Przeorski. I'm sure if you were to write to them, they would be very happy to hear from you. This is how you would address your letters: First and Last names wies: Berzniki gmina: Sejny 16500 pow: Sejnenski woj: Podlaskie Polska - Poland They are two separate people with different phone numbers. I would write to both of them. Adolf should be from a village nearby. If you find their marriage record, that should give you its name. Do you have any idea about when they married? The LDS only have records form 1800 through 1884. The Polish archives have more records. They are from 1808 through 1900. Go to this site: http://baza.archiwa.gov.pl/sezam/pradziad.eng.php?miejscowosc=berzniki&gmina=&wojewodztwo_id=&wyznanie_id=&rodzaj+aktu_id=&search=search and click on more. That will give you contact information for the archives in Suwalki. Write and ask the archives, what it will cost you for them to locate the marriage record, and what the cost of copying that records will be. You can also write to the church. You can find their address by using this website: http://maxpages.com/poland. Click on the link of the page. Print the page and follow the directions. Tina Ellis

Saposhkin is spelled Sapockin and/or Sapockinie In cyrillic, the letters G and H use the same symbol,. If you look at a detailed map, you will see that Nowa BoHatery and Stary Bohatery are just west of Sapockin about 10 kliks (5 miles) inside the polish border Perstun is spelled Pierstun and just east of Stary Bohatiery inside the Belorus border. Alt the above towns seem to be equidistant from each other about five miles. This is consistent with most family relationships in the old country. Consider this...these little villages consisted of 5 to 20 houses with plots, Bohatery & Pierstun You took your excess produce by horse and wagon to the nearest largest town, Sapockin, and met a girl at the market...
