I found a Polish phone directory on line and eventually figured out how to get the addresses I needed.....not always easy when I don't speak the language....When I wrote to this address Adam answered. He is the organist and handles all the genealogy requests. I used the LDS letter writing guide since I do not speak or write Polish. Adam did not ask for any type of payment but since he was so kind I sent him a Western Union Money order and a disposable camera. Adam did not translate the records but "The Polish Genealogical Society of CT and the Northeast" has someone that can translate Russian records. They ask a small fee depending on the type of record. Hope some of this helps in your search!

Franciszek was born around 1815. He was married to Maria Muchnowska in Feb. 1836.....I have been in touch with the Holy Trinity Church in Grajewo. I have worked with a man named Adam. He was very nice to me. I was searching for the Chodnicki side of the family then. He took pictures of tombstones for my Mom's Father's Brother, Jan Chodnicki. I don't have al the pieces of the puzzle yet but I am anxious to keep looking!

Hello Manuela, The Polish abbreviation of Dz~winiacz Go~rny is Dz~winiacz Grn. Go~rny means "Upper". There is also Dz~winiacz Dolny located nearby. There is hill named "Kiczera" close to Dz~winiacz Go~rny. I believe there was longlasting battle between Austrian and Russian Army during WWI in this area. Hello, from the Austrian War Archive I got the information that my granduncle fell in March 1915 near 'Kiczora Kote 788 northwestern of Dzwiniacz Krn'. Now I would like to localize this place. Could 'Dzwiniacz Krn' be identic with Dzwiniacz Gorny? Somebody told me that 'Kote' means 'hill' and that this is a description for a military point. But what could be meant with 'Kiczora'? Surnames: Karwowski, Niedzwiecki Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/RdC.2ACI/437.3.2.1.1.2 Message Board Post: Karen, I finally got copies of the Russian "birth" records for my mother-in-law's ancestors, and there was one Karwowski identified as follows: DESCENDANTS OF ADAM NIEDZWIECKI 1 Adam Niedzwiecki--born 1807 in Grajewo, Poland; died Unknown; married (date unknown) Julianna Szczawinska--born 1814 in Grajewo, Poland; died Unknown 2 Jan Niedzwiecki--born September 12, 1842 in Grajewo, Poland, 6 p.m.; Baptism: Unknown Church of the Holy Trinity in Grajewo; Godfather Franciszek KARWOWSKI; godmother Marcjanna Sienkiewiczowna; married (date unknown) Anna Nietupska--born 1841 in Danówka, Poland The rest probably does not concern you as the name Karwowski does not reappear. Since Franciszek Karwowski was the godfather of Jan Niedzwiecki of Grajewo in 1842, I'm guessing that Franciszek would have been somewhere in his 20s as friend of the family or some such relationship. That would have made him born somewhere in the 1820s. Therefore, he could very well have been the brother of Ferdynand. Isn't that possible? Unfortunately, I do not have the actual Russian record for Jan's birth. The translation is from my Polish researcher, but he has not been able to send me a copy of the record. Still, at, I think, the Polish Genealogical Society of America Web site, there should be available the addresses for writing the different churches, and Grajewo is likely one of those places so you could possibly write for that record. Let me know if you get anywhere, and I'll let you know whether I ever get the actual Russian record.

A GED version of the side of the family that includes Bobrowksis/as as both ancestor and godmothers; 2. A copy of the birth announcement for Jan Niedzwiecki, born 9 May 1850 in Popowo (on line 8 you will find his mother's name as Anna [Anny] Borowska and in line 11 you will find his godmother's Borowska name); 3. A copy of the birth announcement of Kaatarzyna Niedzwiecka, born 4 March 1854 in Popowo (line 7/8 contains her mother's name--same as for Jan as he was her brother--and line 10 is her Borowska godmother); and 4. A copy of the birth announcement for Marianna Niedzwiecka, daughter of Jan Niedwiecki, born 7 June 1875 in Popowo (line 17 identifies her godmother--my translator told me it is Borowska, but I cannot identify any of the letters that would make it so).
