It'd be good to find a birth cert of Adam and his siblings. The same for the Wisniewskis. The records should say what their social status. It could be also possible to find descendants of the sibiling remained in Poland. Regards, Michal J. Marciniak Poland
Hello, I'm new to the list so I hope I have posted my query correctly. If not please let me know the proper way to do so. Please let me know about the Famulki Kolewskie. I have member of family in Bialystok/Suwalki who were related in marriage to a Hrabia Gorski, and Baron Bystram/Bistron/Bystron (unsure of spelling). My great aunt Wanda Weronica Uckiewicz was married to first to one of these gentlemen, and then to the second. er. Wanda Weronica born 22 July 1846 in Suwalki Province, Poland. She was the daughter of Josef and Filipa Uckiewicz. Joseph was a schoolteacher. I would appreciate any help you might offer to help me continue this search. Is there a more appropriate list for me to use? I will be going to Bialystok and Suwalki in September. I have a mid-1940s address in Osse/Lapy area for family (Majewski) that was related to Wanda. Any suggestions on how to follow up in Archives (RC church or civil) would be appreciated. Thank you for any assistance you might offer. Dorothy Petraitis Evanston, IL. Ho Dorothy, Famulki Krolewskie are located in a different region than Bialystok and Suwalki. You need to post to a Podlaskie Board. The Bystrams and Gorskis are known noble families in Poland. Basically, records of the Suwalki and Bialystok areas from the 19th century you should search in the State Archives in Suwalki and Bialystok. Record after 1905 should be in the Registry Offices (Urza~d Stanu Cywilnego). I may give you e-mail address and address of the archives if you want to. I think you have a good point to start your research. You have an address to a Majewski from the 1940's. There still could live the Majewski family in Lapy-Osse. Could you please send me privately the address of the Majewskis? I'd try to find out if there are any memebers of that family in Lapy-Osse. BTW, I'll do research in the Suwalki archives in a few days. Kind regards, Michal J.
