    1. [Pol-Maz] Chmielewski from Przasnysz

    3. Does anyone have a connection with any Chmielewski's who came from Przasnysz? Other names I have from an old note I found in my mother's papers are: Dobrzankow, Karwacz, Zakrzewo. I'm not sure whether these are towns, districts or what, but I'm fairly sure they all are in Maxowieckie. My grandfather Stanislaw immigrated from that area in 1902, although he states that he immigrated from Warsaw Russia.. I have his citzenship papers where it gives the ship he sailed on and the date it arrived in NY. The Patricia in May of 1902. I have checked the Ellis Island site and it seems that he used his brother's name, Francis, when he booked passage, and it states he was coming from Przasnysz. Very interesting. According to a cousin in Poland, who also lived in Przasnysz, that my mother used to correspond with, his father was Jan Chmielewski and his mother was Maryanna Piecychua or Piecychna. I would also like to try to reach the grown children of my mother's cousin. I still have mail from her, but I'm sure she's passed away since I last heard from her in the 80s. Her surname was Czarnecka. She had a daughter, Ursula, and one, maybe two sons. I can't make out the one son's name from the back of an old photo. I have trouble reading Polish style handwriting, but from what I can make out it looks like "Miceie" or "Miccie". Her e's and c's are hard to distinguish. Her son would be close to 60, and Ursula would be about 55. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Elaine O'Neill
