We have a Kactursyna Gorska (possibly married to Wincenty?) from NY(Rensselaer county). I think they are related to Matwa/Matlock somehow, but haven't been able to connect all the dots, yet. Would love to hear if your in-laws have any ideas. If there's any connection (Kacts./Vincent), will send you what I have. Thanks.
Thank you for trying Michal. I appreciate your effort. Is there any research you need in America I can try to help you with? Glen Williams

Hi Glen, I was in the archives in Plock but did not have time to look up for your family. I check out records of Wyszogrod from a period and your family lived in Poland. There was no Bartkowskis in the vital records of Wyszogrod. I'll be aware of that name during my research. Hope next time in Plock, I'll have some spare time. This is an exciting thing for me because my mother is 82 and would love to see the marriage certificate of her parents. I went to the State Archives website and I see they have forms in English that I can fill out and mail to Mlawa to request certificates or other information. There are numbers next to each type of request but I can't tell if they mean dollars or zlotys. If it is in American money, it doesn't say if it is $35.00 or 35 cents. Naturally, if a certificate is $35.00, I will carefully pick and choose what information to request! If you could answer that question, I would appreciate it greatly. Thank you again. Mary

Seeing= that they were GGG Grandparents I would guess it was prior to WWI in whi= ch case the eastern part of Poland there became a part of Russia and they= took all the records to St. Petersburg. Glenn and Jeff, If the records ever were in St. Petersburg, they were brought back long time ago. I have been researching in Russian Poland, and records exist in the state or church archives that go back to 17th century in some cases. You can check the Polish State Archives website to see if the records exist in one of the state archives by putting in the gmina 'seat' for the town of interest. It will tell you which archives it is in and give you an address for the archives. The LDS has also filmed throughout Poland, in abt '69 and more in the 90's. You can search their library holdings for records you seek. It is also possible that the archdiocean archives that covers Plock has records available. Blitz would not be my first choice for searching for Plock records..... Anettka
