I'm not sure where she came from in Poland but she came to the states around 1909. She lived in Detroit as a border and later married William B. Foster (Boleslaw Scyzoryk). They had 4 boys and lived most of their lives in Dearborn, Michigan after that.

It doesn't look like all of their records are here, and I did find some earlier records in Mochowo parish, just down the road. So far I have found several children of Jozef and Lucya (Abczynska) Smorzewski ranging from 1869 to 1884. It looks like sometime before 1881 they moved from Mochowo to Sudragi. Any connection to your ancestors?

Their children say one thing, but records a family member say are another. Their tombstones say they were born in 1882 which I believe in incorrect. As for the months and days I believe the problem comes from the old European way of celebrating the christening and not the birth. I don't have my records in front of me at the moment. Please email me at billie3713@yahoo.com so that we may get in touch. I have a source Hank Walczak who is the greatest help. He also has been intouch with Roginski. HI Betty, There was a few Baptist Parishes near the Garwasz but Garwasz is located in a middle of them. So, you may look up records of Gradzanow, Raciaz and Ojrzen. Probably your family was a member of one of those parishes. The only way to be positive is to get the birth certificats for Maryanna and Josef. Or ask Billie what reference he is using, birth, death, bible word of mouth. Best is the birth certificate.
