    3. Hi All, I need to be pointed in the right direction. I feel like I'm spinning wheels here. I can't find my grandfather so therefore can't trace his family back in time. What I know: I have my grandmother's baptismal record from her parish: Radziwie parafii. Her parents lived in Soczewka. In the index of her baptismal record is a note written by the priest that says Aleksej Wybranowski and she (Marianna Kwiatkowska) married on 23 Jan 1910 in the church of Radziwie. I wrote to Radziwie parish in April 2004 using the PGSA Polish/English forms to request their marriage record. I enclosed 2 IRC coupons and $20. I have never heard back from them. I was thinking of writing agian, but maybe there is a better way to get this info. I don't think 1910 for that parish has been filmed by the LDS. Should I just write to the Diocese Archives? Where else could I look or write? Thank you in aadvance for any help. Bobbi McCaffrey St. Charles, IL

    1. Hefke, Truderung and Elsner Families
    2. Betty Irwin
    3. I am looking for information on my great grandfather Theodore Hefke, his son Karl and wife (Karl and Wanda Hefke) They were farmers in the area of Draminek. They attended a Baptist Church in Kondrojec (Kondrietz). My mother's family had property near Glinojeck it was named Garwasch. The Truderung's owned the land and my Grandmother was their youngest daughter Marie who died after childbirth in about 1926. I believe the Truderung's were part owners with the Von Hertzel's of a brewery (possibly in Glinojeck). My grandfather was Alexander Elsner who lived in Warsaw. If anyone has any information about this, I would appreciate knowing. Thank you Betty Irwin

Jan had two daughters Paulina and Maria. Antoni had daughters and three sons: Edward, Stanislaw, and Wladyslaw. These three brothers were born in the last quarter of 1800s. I am a direct descendant of this Stanislaw. Wladyslaw died without children. Now Edward had three sons: Ryszard, Stanislaw (maybe that's the Stanislaw you are looking for?) and Zygmunt. Surnames: Szymowski Schechtman Gozik Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/AdC.2ACE/1029 Message Board Post: I am researching my fathers family. He was Born in Dortmund to Israel And Bella Lea Szymowski. Israel was born in Nowy Dwor on 7 Feb 1895. It would appear that Szymowski is a name localized to Nowy Dwor and I have discovered the family of Joshua Sjeze Szymowski born Nowy Dwor 1884 ( married Ester ??? born Nowy Dwor 1886) who had at least 2 children - a son born 1912 also called Israel and a daughter called Miriam) Miriam submitted testimonies to the Yad Vashem database about her parents and brothers and signed the testimony as Miriam Gozik. If any one related to Miriam Gozik nee Szymowski has any information about her family in Nowy Dwor I would be very interested, as I suspect that Joshua and my Grandfather may have been brothers. My father who stayed in England after the Kinder Transport in 1938, died nearly 10 years ago had some photos from a cousin in the US around 1945 - her name was Minnie Schechtman, I have no idea if this is her maiden name or not. However she had a sister called Annie and perhaps a brother called Irving. Annie at the time had 2 daughters Bette and Sylvia. If the link here is not to the Szymowski line it might instead be to my Grandmother's family. They were called Oberszyt / Obergit my great grandmother was Ryfka Szkifka who was married and living in Kaluszyn when Bella Lea was born in 1900. If anyone has information on Minnie Schechtman and her relatives I would again be very interested.

    3. I just received boarder crossing(Halifax)information today. The family(ggrandmother and children) came over with the surname Rossa(wife and children,1907). They state they are to meet their husband/father in Milwaukee but have his name as Jan Rosianski(Jan Rossa was my ggrandfather already here in Milwaukee). From baptismal records of the children I have from Poland, the surname was Rossa. Family legend has it he was running away from conscription in the Russian army. Also my grandfather had told me our name was changed. Some what confused here. Could I assume they were protecting his identity? Therefore verifying family lore? Any ideas out there? Basically I have pounded myelf silly trying to find records on my grandparents. It is most frustrating as I knew them. I talked to them a lot but I guess I never asked the right questions. But since I posted this I have had a new development. I went through my old printouts of information sheets on the films I have ordered from the LDS. I had a few duplicates that matched printouts from earlier sheets. On one of the sheets from 1995 the LDS had 7 rolls on my town. On the one I printed out recently they had 9 rolls on my town. Both of the films cover my timeframe. So I have learned to recheck the LDS films every once in a while. Who knows this could be the big break I have been looking for.
