    1. RE: [Pol-Maz]Rachwalski/Rychwalski in Sukow/Sukow Wielke
    2. Jeff Whelan
    3. I cannot place it for sure but talking with a friend in Poland and making sure I understand naming conventions correctly, Sukowka might be Sukow, Poland which appears to be S. Central Poland around the Krakow area. http://www.fallingrain.com/world/PL/36/SukowModrzewie.html Sukowka - the ka is likely added as is done a lot in that language. Last names for example - my name "whelan" in Polish could become "whelanski" and for my wife would be "whelanska" Sorry I couldn't be of more help -----Original Message----- From: erach [mailto:erach@core.com] Sent: Wednesday, March 23, 2005 1:23 PM To: POL-MAZOWIECKIE-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [Pol-Maz]Rachwalski/Rychwalski in Sukow/Sukow Wielke From my father's bible... "Sukowka" Gr. Sukwaka Feb. 28 1882 This seems to be the only hint to my grandfather Romald Rychwalski/Rachwalski birthplace.. Can anyone place this location for sure... And if so...would you have the church address??? Thank you... Edward... ==== POL-MAZOWIECKIE Mailing List ==== Want to browse the mailing list archives? 1. Flasinski from Plock
    2. Hi, I am new to the list and I am hoping someone can help me find some information about my ancestor, Alexander Flasinski. He was born in 1884, I assume in Plock, and had one half sister, Helen Chrystofolski, born in 1891. I don't know if they had any other siblings. His father probably died. I can't imagine his parents were divorced in those days. Both Alexander and Helen immigrated to the US, Chelsea, Massachusetts. in 1907. Alexander married a Bronislawa Wojciechowska in 1909 and they had eight children. Helen married a Joseph Chwaliszewski and had seven children. On Alexander's deed to his grave, it states that he had an alias, Stoupa. We have no idea what that is about. Alexander died in 1932 as the result of an accident at work. I would love to speak with anyone who has any knowledge of this family. Also, if anyone has any background information on the name, Flasinski, I would be interested in hearing from you. Thank you, Alice

I have been working on the Szolis family history for about a year now. The Szolis' I have found were from Hungary, Poland and the United States. Most of the Szolis' that lived in the United States were in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area. Please send any additional information. Thank you. Here is the story of our Szolis family as told to me by my Great Uncle Mike Szolis. Three Szolis brothers came to the United States after their parent from Poland were take. The brothers (John Peter, Joseph and Michel) were working on the family farm in Poland one day when they saw from a distance their parents being taken away. With some questions they found that their parent were taken by the government and would be sent to work on a farm in Siberia. The three brother then left Poland and their sister stayed with a neighbor and later married there in Poland. The three brother eventually made it to the United States. Michel may have made it to the United States first. Micheal married Mary Wos. Joseph came the United States and went back to Europe were he married and joined the military in hopes of finding his parents again. John Peter, who is my Great Grandfather, came to the United States and married Theresa Huebner. John Peter came to the Unites States after stopping in Dunafoldevar, Tolna Prov., Hungary were his Grandparents were when they were! young. The family there spoke a differnet language, but were able to help him get to America. John came to the United states possible for the second time on the ship Maasdam in March of 1901. John was born in Makow Maz., Poland about 1881 to Magdelina Milewska and John Szolis Sr. I would love to hear to from any Szolis' to exchange photos, documents and information.
