For those of you who are researching the Poff family of Northumberland County PA, I have some interesting info. I found Peter Pfaff in the 1850 census in Northumberland County: Peter Pfaff 41 Sarah.......39 Joseph......16 George......11 Peter........8 Jacob........6 Sarah........4 Savilla......1 Twin John.........1 Twin (My ancestor) I was happy to find this because I knew that Peter, Joseph, and John were brothers, but I could not find evidence of their parents. I suspected that their father was Peter...now I know! Then I found that Peter (the son) listed his birth place as New Jersey in the 1920 Census. Until I read this, I suspected that we were connected to the York County Poff's and I concentrated my search in that direction. Pointed in a new direction, I found records of a Pfaff family in Northampton County, PA, which borders New Jersey. >From Salem Lutheran and Reformed Congregations, Moore Township, Northampton County, PA 1774-1840: Peter Pfaff b. 13 June 1809 bapt. 30 July 1809 Parents: Henrich and Magdalena I believe that this is the birth record of Peter Pfaff (41 years old in the 1850 census) further research will either prove or disprove this. Just a little note of interest-- Henrich and Magdalena Pfaff were the parents of a set of twins born in 1794. Peter and Sarah Pfaff were the parents of a set of twins born in 1848. The gradaughter of John (one of those twins) was Sadie Irene Poff (my grandmother). She was the mother of three sets of twins! Lonnie __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
