Hi Jim: Thanks. I know out there somewhere someone will come forward who knows what happened to my Jane Poff Gibson. I will just have to wait and see. I do have most of the line back to Frederick. Although I only have one child for him the George who married Anne Merchant in 1772 in PA. Their son George I also only have one child George. It is very possible that William was probably a cousin to Samuel or even a nephew. Samuel was born in 1797 so I feel that it might be a newphew instead. Who did your William marry? I can ask a few good Poff researchers if they have anything on him. I can also look in more records and notes that I have to see if there is a mention of him. I would be more than happy to help.
