Clipping of the Day From the "New York Times," 10 May 1860, page 4: Minor Topics --- An abreviation [sic] not to be found in the books, is to be found on a tombstone in Dunkirk. The mourners intended to put an old aunt to sleep with the customary phrase, "Let her rest in peace," but the space on the stone gave out at the close of the word "her." The ready-witted sculptor, however, inserted the initials, and now the dear old lady sleeps beneath the laconic, but inelegant epitaph: "Let her r i p."
