Hi, Helen, My married name, Czarnecki (pronounced Char-net-ski), is courtesy of my darling, imported husband. He immigrated from Poland in 1981. It appears that there are more Czarneckis here in the States than in Poland! We are always meeting people who know a Czarnecki and wonder if we are related - we're not, since my husband is the first in his family in memory to leave Poland for the US. Czarnecki means "black man" in Polish, but if you saw my husband, you'd wonder why. He started to turn gray when he was 16 and has had white hair for ever. At least he has a lot of it!
