Records indicate that his parents were James Willis Pitts and Margaret "Maggie" Rosalie Carter. On 15 Apr 1920 Claud Carter Pitts married Mary Adeline Mitchell, in Anniston, AL. It appears he married a second time but I have no information on that. On 9 May 1921 his first son, Claud Mitchell Pitts, was born at Seller's Hospital, Anniston, AL. On 10 Mar 1924 his second son, William Pitts, was born at home in Anniston, AL. In approximately 1928 Mary Adeline Mitchell took her two sons and left Anniston. Due to the conditions at that time there was never any further contact between Claud Carter Pitts and his sons. Claud Mitchell Pitts became Chester Mitchell Stone. William Pitts became William Lamar Stone. Chester Mitchell Stone was a career USAF pilot serving in WWII and flying out of England. He retired to Houston, TX in 1963. William Lamar Stone was a hospital administrator. Both Chester Mitchell Stone and William Lamar Stone are deceased (1999 and 1965 respectively). both Chester Mitchell Stone and William Lamar Stone were the father of 1 daughter and 2 sons. I am looking for information, photos and such on Claud Carter Pitts' extended family and any marriages he entered into after 1920. I am a daughter referred to above.
