He sold it in 1969. My Dad told me there was a house south of the barn that had belonged to some Pitts. As a boy he was told that the James and Youngers would retreat to the Pitts family member's home there when the law was on their trail. Dad said in the thirty's he would plow up bricks there. There is a graveyard in Springfield with Pitts headstones. They were readable in the 1960s. The graveyard is 200 yards west of Springfield Road and 150 yards south of Durlin Road.
